"I have sworn an oath to our glorious Consortium Alliance, I vow from this day forward, to serve, fight, protect, live and die for it."

— Kali's pledge for the Consortium on her acceptance

Kali Linette is a SWRP character.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Kali Linette was a fun loving, and somewhat biosterus youth. Her life began on the planet of Thule from a Correllain Senator and a wandering Mandalorian. Throughout her early life, her father taught her on how to use various weapons from vibroblades to blasters as well as hand to hand combat. Eventually her Correllian mother got a new job, as a miner and with bonus cash they managed to purchase a salvaged Y-8 Mining Vessel. The family designated her. "FreeFall." The old, beat up vessel would serve as their home for several years.

Kali's capture, Destruction of the FreeFall[]

Ten years later, Kali (Now Seventeen) and her family had been on a routine mining run, when the ship began to have Hyperdrive issues. At first the family was not at all surprised as the ship had many problems in the past, being an older freighter. However, when they departed from their last station, the stabilizers were damaged upon an accidental impact with another smaller ship.

The FreeFall, pulled an emergency stop from hyperspace and fell dead in space as the ruptures in the engine cooling tubes grew larger. Kali's mother worked the communications console to place a distress call, while her father tried his best to repair the leaks in the engine systems.

With in an hour, a rouge frigate came out of hyperspace, and answered the distress call. However, what seemed like help was nothing more than raiders looking for their next target. They detected the various metallic and siliceous asteroid ores and realized they could easily take it from them. The Raiders went on the comm and demanded the ores, or they would be killed. Both Parents refused their demands and prepared for the boarding party. Kali's mother decided it was best for her daughter to be placed in an escape pod and jettisoned if the ship was doomed.

The boarding party blasted in the doors, and shot at her parents, stole the ores and went back to the frigate, only to open fire on the Y-8 Mining Vessel. Kali hesitated to jettisoned but knew it was too late to saver her parents, so with a heavy heart she jettisoned the moment the ship began to erupt from the frigate's batteries. As she launched, her pod was snared in a tractor beam by the pirate's frigate. Her parents managed to survive the wreckage, floating in a small escape pod for nearly a week before being picked up by a Republic cruiser. They tried desperately to search for, and rescue their missing daughter, but ultimately failed, and left no option but to count her as a fatality.

The Crew of the rouge ship then searched the wreckage as they detected a faint life reading, and after several minutes they towed the pod on board and imprisoned Kali.

Kali's Life On board The Raider Starbase and Maroth's Introduction[]

Kali would serve the raiders under poor living conditions, little food/water, and no pay, in exchange for her life. She had also been attacked several times by some of the paranoid rouges, or thrown in her small quarters for weeks. And when she was summoned to the captain, she was usually called for canon fodder, or did the most dangerous jobs such as stealing any valuable objects.

Then on one day Kali walked to her quarters, and was ambushed by the commander, the raider blamed her for a faulty detection grid, after an unknown ship resembling somewhat of a Providence Cruiser destroyed several of their fighters.

Just as he was about to deliver another punch, the station shook violently as the cruiser began to assault it with a steady line of blaster fire and then boarded. The Commander threw Kali in her quarters and locked the door, only to be killed by a soldier in jet black composite armor.

Kali could hear voices, one yelling in an angered state of Rodese, the other in basic. Next, she heard a loud thud, as a body slammed against her door. Kali prayed, thinking things couldn't get any worse, and ended up sobbing in fear. Finally she saw a tip of a red lightsaber slicing her door wide open, followed by a colossal copper skinned Rodian. In fear and defense, she charged him, but was slammed in the side of her head by his bracer.

Life in the Consortium[]

Kali woke up in a comfortable hospital bed on board the Consortium flagship, Titan. She saw Maroth's scarred snout towering above her as he greeted her in basic. Eventually Kali recovered, and decided it was best to stay in the Consortium Alliance, after all, she was rescued from a horrible fate from a group of raiders.

Maroth never hesitated in accepting her as a fully fledged member, and soon she rapidly rose through the ranks until she had a seat on the High Council, and became the Elite Guard's commanding officer, and Maroth's personal Apprentice.

Kali's Mistake and Defection to the Republic[]

One day Kali was informed by Maroth of his real goal; to put an end to the Republic, saying, "The Government is becoming Corrupt, it is time that we take a stand and fight for what's right."

Kali was then tasked with handling the dangerous new biological weapons that had been constructed for his upcoming war.

She soon learned the horrors of what those canisters contained as one accidentally dropped and busted open, infecting her and twenty others with the virus.

Maroth then sent Kali to search for an anti-virus ingredient found in the plant life of Bakura. It was there she was confronted by Several troops and imprisoned for treason. Kali, fearing her life blurted Maroth's malevolent plot, and decided it was time to defect back to the Republic.

Eventually after several arguments and firefights, Kali was granted citizenship of Bakura. She would soon agree to help hunt down and defeat several members of the Consortium, as well as help keep the peace of the planet.

The Hunt for Kali and Realationships Grow Weaker[]

Soon, Maroth learned Kali betrayed him and sent several parties to assassinate her before his cruiser plans could be delivered to the Republic's Government for a counter strike. Several of Maroth's Executioners were killed in the process of the hunt, and finally Maroth moved to Diplomacy to try and get her back. The Supreme Chancellor known as Katar, was sent over to help settle a claim on Kali's life, however it ended in failure as Katar threatened an invasion force and was nearly killed by his infection.

This would alert Kali to go out on space patrol to infiltrate the Seventh, and sabotage the various cruisers, while Sergeant Spade of the 501st (At the time Corporal Spade) Infiltrated the communication base located on Malestare. His mission was to enter in as a Consortium Soldier, and send falsified reports of a massive fleet awaiting to ambush the Consortium. This would scare the Seventh to retreat back to Felucia.

Kali ended up in Hypori after chasing Maroth's deadliest assassin, Karom. Unlike the other Dark Adepts, Karom had the ability to link up with Kali's mind and partially control her through a strong mind trick. The two fought for over an hour until Karom succeeded in nearly killing her, however when she was weakened and knocked out, he began to use his influence on her, turning the once calm Kali into a paranoid, cold hearted killer.

Within the time of Kali's sudden disappearance, everyone presumed she had died, and when she returned, tensions were high between her and the Republic Troopers. Especially when she attacked a young Jedi Knight with no provocation. In confusion and rage, she muttered out several theories on her supposed "danger and traitorous thoughts", none of which made sense.Kali eventually attacked the Jedi, and held her hostage until a Marine stopped her, and calmed the situation down.

Her dark attempts subsided as the link weakened between her and Karom, and she mostly forgotten what transpired up until her fight on Hypori.

On a final night, Kali learned of an infiltration team led by Maroth had infiltrated the city through the sewer system. She met up with a Twi'lek and set up a trap for them, having the Twi'lek divert their attention while Kali hid behind the bar and shoot them in a surprise attack. The plan was a slight success, leaving a Consortium Ssi-Ruuk exile, and the Consortium Dictator badly wounded on the floor.

Just as things seemed to be causal once again, a Mandalorian female began to provoke Kali, who had been in a combative mood that entire evening. Eventually another firefight began and the clone troopers intervened, forcing Kali to attack both the Mandalorian female and the clones. The Mandalorian tried to calm her down by saying the Death Watch would avenge her life should Kali end it. However, it did not deter Kali and eventually she shot her in the torso, nearly killing her. This broke the line of relations with the Republic and two troopers attacked Kali, stunning her.

The fight ended as several GAR Officers stepped in, and Kali used the moment to escape with Maroth, after exchanging glares with some of the soldiers. Even as if the situation seemed grim, Kali saw things going according to her plan, as she needed an excuse to get Maroth's trust once more.

Kali's Infiltration and Redemption from the Consortium[]

Maroth took it upon himself to heal Kali's severe injuries, and granted her leniency, which she was the first ever to be forgiven for betraying the Consortium.

Kali however had other intentions. When she healed and was fully rested in her quarters, she reported to Maroth's office to deliver the plans of his Cruiser, which contained every weakness, and exploitation of the ship, Maroth intended on receiving the data so he can fortify the ship in the designated "soft spots," so he can have an impenetrable defence. Kali secretly switched the data disk which contained the original plans with a copy that contained a computer virus. Once installed into the main data banks, Kali could remotely download everything Maroth had including future attacks, fleet compliment, plus virus canisters, ammo, and cargo manifests. All vital information for the Republic, the only problem was, keeping it secret from Maroth's watchful eyes until the right moment, and more difficultly earning the trust of the Clones once more.

Operation Cold Steel[]

With the computer virus in place, Kali, knew her last phase was to cripple the Consortium fleet via their defense grid. She had planned to work from the inside, hiding her operation-personally calling it Cold Steel as much as possible. The first phase was shutting the Consortium's various drone fighters and droids. A tactic that would hopefully prove useful for when the Republic would engage in the next battle. With the droids shut down, she quickly hacked into the defenses, shields, weapons, aux power, etc making sure to shut them down, and finally all she had left was to hide a tracking device on board their flagship the CAS Titan.

However the plan ultimately failed at the cost of Kali's freedom. She was discovered by Lord Karom, slammed up against a nearby bulkhead and dragged to Vivian Roxly's personal laboratory.

Kali's Arrest[]

Kali was not worthy to die a Consortium traitor's death in the Warlord's eyes. Instead he personally had the girl arrested and signed the order for her entire personality to be wiped. She would instead serve the rest of her life as a living weapon, or so intended. No emotion, no memory, but merely a shell. The procedure involved Lord Karom using his abilities to mentally weaken Kali. So far to a point where she had no will to resist anything, which resulted in a near death. With a limp body, Doctor Vivian Roxly deployed a small spider like droid (A term she playfully called a "Puppet Droid") next to her right temple, which embedded itself into her brain enabling it to take near full control. With this installed all that was Kali was now gone, aside from a literal killing machine.

Occupation of Uvena Prime/Kali's Fate[]

Now completely controlled by the Consortium War Machine, Kali was given the nickname after her droid counterpart "K-54" and given Command of the Consortium's elite division of warriors known as the NightWatch Legion.

As the Axis moved in to conquer Uvena Prime, Kali was one of the first to disembark and set up an occupational outpost along with the Revenant Armada. Together the occupation turned out to be one of their most brutal and violent endeavors.

Project Nightmare[]

Several months into the Occupation, Vivian Roxly managed to revive and re-weaponize the Black Orchid Virus, an ancient sith created weapon that could turn the bodies of the dead into ravaging killing/eating machines. During a test Run Kali was on the planet surface overseeing the routine executions of Shishtavanen and rebel prisoners when a bomb from the CAS Titan misfired and slammed into their encampment. Nearly everyone including the entire NightWatch legion was killed and reanimated. Those that did survive included K-54 (Kali). As her brain worked with the droid implant to process the amount of confusion and immanent danger she was in, she hadn't payed attention to the band of rebels that used the opportunity to mount a small attack. K-54 was captured by a raiding party of Mandalroians lead by a jedi knight. Together they identified the unconscious woman and attempted to free her of the droid's influence as well as the dark side of the force that had managed to corrupt her.

The attempt was a half success, as the droid became severely damaged, causing Kali to flee in a wild panic into the dense wilderness. From there Kali would vanish for good.

Sightings after the Occupation[]

Despite the claims, some have reported seeing a strange humanoid like female swinging from place to place, softly mumbling about great calamities, evil forces, or even just muffled sobs. Some reports match a very close description of the once proud Thule born woman, yet others can't seem to get enough info, and as such has become a bit of some outlandish tale one could hear about in a local cantina. Be it Kali or not would be a hard mystery to solve.

Equipment And Weaponry[]

Kali Linette is equipped as a standard Consortium Elite Shadow Guard of the High Council, usually equipped with Acklay Chitin Armor, a ceremonial vibrosword, a wrist blaster, a scanning device for her left rist, and a filtering system on her helmet. The helmet has a standard Heads Up Display similar to that of a Storm Trooper, which can read linked in vitals for squad missions, night view, etc. On optional uses, Kali might wield short range blades which are sheathed on the sides of her shin, in case of close quarter combat. The Armor it's self has two phases, one of which has the helmet for extra protection in combat, while the other has a face mask, which is used in neutral, non-combative times. The Ceromonial blade is slightly force-imbued. These are a standard by the Consortium when they have to confront Jedi, however the blade serves little use, with only a direct few hits, the sword can shatter under the lightsaber's pressure and heat.
