Tekisui Hakuin is a Hapan Jedi currently studying at the Uvena Prime Jedi Enclave. Philosophical and deeply attuned to the Living Force, Tekisui often came across as shy, unconventional and maverick.

BackgroundEdit

Hailing from Shedu Maad within the Inner Rim of the Hapes Cluster, Tekisui was born into a culture that regarded males as second class citizens. Being of notably low class in addition, the Hapan was socialised into a mindset in such a way to make him appear meek and docile.

Growing up in relative Isolation from external influences from the rest of the galaxy due to the transitory mists, he was rather conflicted in his upbringing. Tekisui resided not far from a Jedi academy that was established on the planet not long after the second galactic civil war. Torn between the Jedi that resided there and the rife anti-Jedi sentiments of the Hapan population the small Hapan male was rather confused from an early age.

Despite his initial confusion Tekisui's overwhelming wanderlust guided him towards the local Jedi temple, in which he grew accustomed – even naming it a second home. Eventually his force sensitivity became apparent to not only himself but the Jedi who he spent much time around. At some stage in his young life, the Jedi persuaded Tekisui’s guardians to allow him to become a member of the Jedi Order, seeing it as the best potential option to give the Hapan a better life.

The Hapan's presence in the force was particularly strong which would in turn come to compensate for his lack of physical prowess. Although Galactic Basic was his primary and first language, Tekisui also was fluent in Hapan and by his early teens, Huttese. His early education was the result of the various teachers situated amongst the Jedi Temple, which Tekisui would come to recognise as his salvation.

Eventually Tekisui was taken on as a Padawan learner by Jedi Master Mikori Lawson. After his transfer to Uvena Prime, shortly after the Revenant Occupation - the Hapan began his Jedi training officially. Over the course of his early apprenticeship, the young padawan would be thoroughly tested in hostile situations, encountering such enemy factions as the Trayus Academy, the Revenant Armada and the Consortium Alliance.

Tekisui's primary mode of living is focused internally, where he deals with things rationally and logically. His secondary mode is external, where he takes things in primarily via his intuition.

Living in the world of theoretical possibilities, he sees everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. Additionally focused primarily inside his own mind, having the ability to analyse difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. More often than not Tekisui would seek clarity in everything, and therefore feels driven to build knowledge. The Hapan is so strongly driven to turn problems into logical explanations, that he lives much of his life within his own head, often he may not place as much importance or value on the external world.

Having no interest to lead or control people, he is very tolerant and flexible in most situations, unless one of his firmly held beliefs has been violated or challenged, in which case he may take a very rigid stance. Tekisui is very shy when it comes to meeting new people. On the other hand, he is very self-confident and gregarious around people he knows well, or when discussing theories which he fully understands.
